morphine and marshmallow sandwiches

the pain doctor prescribed my mom Morphine on Wednesday. Having recently watched Saving Private Ryan, I know that morphine was almost always administered to mortally wounded soldiers. Her reaction to the drug could be mistaken for someone with a penchant for whiskey. Eyes glazed, slurred words, and falls asleep while eating. Although, she is smiling and in good humor we know that all the pain she suffered through the past ten years is being heavily masked by the painkiller.

With that prefaced, my mom made a sandwich last night that blew all of our minds.
- Two slices of slightly toasted Sun Maid Raisin Bread w/extra raisins
- Thinly spread all natural extra crunchy peanut butter
- Cover the surface with marshmallows
- Coat the other slice of bread with refridgerated fudge

This was enjoyed with a handful Baked Cheetos.

It is good to get told goodnight twice everynight by her and to hear her laugh.

The following is by a fellow University of North Texas Student (I attended this school post-baccaleureate for about a year).

Seriously, I feel this one coming on again. It starts with a tickling feeling in my throat in ear makes swallowing a chore and grows worse by the minute. The symptoms are unmistakeably the oncoming fight against strep throat. This will be the third time in less than three months. Tomorrow, I will feel like shit. Go to the Dr. Get a shot and antibiotic pills large enough to choke you.

Third time just might be the charm that will make me remove these jokers. Bad lymph nodes runs in the family though. If my mom had removed her maybe she wouldn't be dying from lymphocitic leukemia. Well, that's partially true because the leukemia runs through the blood but her lymph nodes are constantly acting up making her sick and sometimes so large she can't swallow. Hopefully MD Anderson will accept her as a patient and provide a new light on this menace that the current doctor has given up on. There's got to be other solutions like stem cell alternatives or bone marrow. She's too sick to take the radiation and chemo treatments because after one dose she's back in the hospital on her death bed. stuck in a Catch 22. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'm an animal. can't get enough of this one!

This one I found on the Barcelona soccer vid. He's kinda of sounds like a new Peter Gabriel or Sting.

Even though I hate running, sometimes after a hard day it's the only thing that will hit the spot. This is a great tune to work out the agressions.

Team Barcelona, talented and beautiful

The undisputed best soccer team in the world and what's even better is they are unbelievably easy on the eyes, even the coach. The best part is I get to see them up close and personal on January 3rd in their stadium!!!

The Goalie:  Valdes.
Rafael Marquez -
Gerard Piqué Bernabeu

Some beautiful action shot with the swedish star Ibrahimovic....

Their gorgeous coach just got sexier with his sixth trophy in his first year as the head coach for the Barcelona club.....

Sarah in France 2010?

R asked me last night if to go to Lyon, France with him.

                                     To Live.
                                                          For a Year.

If his project gets passed through he will be leaving Houston and going to France in February. That would mean no job for me. Just taking french lessons and doing whatever the French do.        Merd.

In the meantime, I leave for Frankfurt in 10 days.......
but just for a hot minute to change planes, then off to BARCELONA!

Is it our year?

The end of the season is getting quite exciting. Last weekend, I got to see the Chargers squeeze out a win against the embarassed and sickened Cowboys in their new collosal stadium in Dallas. Now one week later, they have won  another game to make 9 wins in a row and are more convincing than ever that they have what it takes to take it all the way......

Tonight's article:

SAN DIEGO --- The San Diego Chargers are playing clutch football.

And they may be doing it late into January and perhaps beyond. The Chargers just won an incredibly emotional game against the grieving Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati receiver Chris Henry died Thursday.

San Diego won the game on a 52-yard field goal by the underrated Nate Kaeding with three seconds to go.

San Diego is now 11-3 and is on the doorstep of getting the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs and a first-round bye.

San Diego has won nine straight games. It has won an NFL record 17 straight games in December dating back to 2006. It clinched the AFC West with its win and Denver's loss to Oakland.

This game had a playoff feel to it and the Chargers made the big plays when they had to.

Once again, San Diego showed that no one wants to play this team come the playoffs.

Two Years Passed

Came across the playlist I created just about two years ago, here's a few picks that are most memorable.

Flashing Lights - Kanye West
Paper Planes - MIA
I'm Gonna Be - The Proclaimers
D.A.N.C.E. - Justice ---- along w/some other songs that involve spelling

And we can't forget The Cure. Great song, disturbing video.

We seem to be going through a period of nostalgia, and everyone seems to think yesterday was better than today. I don't think it was, and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you're hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday and just go out and have one hell of a time.

cool blog

http://christine-livepassionately.blogspot.com

I found on this site some good tips that only cement what I've been working towards for a while now. At first I felt bad about cutting ties with my old acquaintance Suzanne but I realize now that she only wanted a "partner in crime" and it wasn't who I want to be. So long for now Suz, I hope you find your way soon.

Surround yourself with:

People who motivate you
People who inspire you
People who acknowledge you
People who support your desires
And ...

People who love you!

Stay away from:

People who are jealous of you
People who are negative
People who blame others
And ...

People who make light of your dreams

Surround yourself with
enlightened people who will
help you soar above your
perceived limitations and
inspire you to the success
you so rightly deserve!

Cheers!

Unlucky in Houston, poor bastard! Marriage proposal, Fail.

My horoscope yesterday, hmmmmm....
Expect surprises in the romance department -- some will be much more welcome than others. Electricity is in the air, and you're likely to be the recipient of more than one admiring glance. Even if you aren't used to this kind of attention, you sure you could get used to it pretty quickly! If you're single, this is a great time to begin a new romance. If you're dating, married or similarly attached to someone, now is the moment to let them know how much you're attracted to them.
