Octoberfest!

TGIO! September came and went in a flash and there is so much to look forward to this month. Not only is Houston finally cooling down, which means it hasn't hit 100 degrees in about a week, but all the upcoming weekends should hold a little bit of adventure. After feeling a little under the weather recently, I made it to the doctor's office today and am hoping these stupid prescriptions get me back on my feet by the weekend.

To kick off the festivities, The Toxic Airborne Event is playing at the House of Blues tomorrow. Saw them almost exactly one year ago at the House of Blues in San Diego when they opened for the Fratellis. Now one European Tour later they are headlining their own show and their songs have made it into commercials, shows, and movies. I just love their music!

To add to the excitement, The Artic Monkeys will be at the same venue on saturday night! I bet they look just as good from the dance floor where I'll be shaking my mardy bum.
A new artist I just caught on to, Michelle Shocked will be here mid-October. Make sure you check out her other song Shaking Hands, pretty catchy tune!

Finally, Halloween weekend will be spent at two night concert by Widespread Panic in Austin.

Heard these shows are phenomenal and your first show is always the best. Now the only thing to worry about is which costume do I wear, what goes best with black boots and fishnets?

Ciao for now.

It's time

Chargers have their first official game this Monday night against the Raiders! Should be in the bag, and just in time to have the news announced that the DA has decided not to file charges against Shawn Merriman in the houston-native Tila Tequila's case.
In case you're not sure what I'm talking about, here's a recap of this week's events.

It's rumored that Shawn is still bent over Girl Next Door Kendra Wilkinson and their breakup.

Great song and video, heard it today while shopping at Nordies. Too bad the html is restricted....here's the link. Plus, I'm pretty sure she is in So Cal.

oh, and I'm supposed to completing my quarterly review for work not blogging about the Bolts. It's due tomorrow and its almost midnight, crunch time!

Saw them in concert about one year ago, so great live.

Music from Rhett Miller from my fave band the Old 97's along with clips from Veronica Mars. The show's studio was at the end of my block in San Diego and they'd film in front of our house all the time.

I can't wait for this movie and the song rocks too!

Ciao for now.

I used to live in a Heartbeat City

So by the end of the week, I'll be sending out applications. Gonna throw 'em out there and leave it up to fate. Who knows where the wind will take me next. Born in Maryland, lived in Atlanta, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Houston, San Diego, The Woodlands, and Austin may be next, possibly even Barcelona. This girl doesn't stay anywhere too long....

Hopefully by January I will be at one end of a classroom. Could be teaching English in Spain or getting my Masters somewhere else, preferibly in foreign languages.
Mi espanol es excelente, il mio italiano sta bene, but I don't speak a lick of french. Here's a song I heard in a lil museum of oddities this past weekend. I wish I knew what she was saying.

ciao for now.

Awake in Austin

I should be catching up on the sleep I didn't get last night but instead I have decided to take the time to share this hysterical series of vids with you all.

but before that...

Jimmy gets her back... McLovin', Meatloaf, and Josh Groban help out. Unbelievable.

Some More Matt Damon, couldn't resist.

The following is a great cover that goes along with the obvious theme of the blog.

This one is for my lovely latin friends Gaudy, Linda and Raquel because we rock out to this one when we go to the clubs. And for my friend Kisha as well, who is on a backpacking adventure through Spain right now. Hopefully I will be going there soon too.

Total Cheese but I love Shakira's first albums best and they really helped me learn spanish.

Ciao for Now.
