Tonsil Hockey

Another two day battle with Strep Throat has come and gone. I felt almost embarassed sitting on the examining table waiting for the Dr to come in and tell him that it was all happening just like it did exactly 3 weeks ago. He takes one look at what is supposed to be my throat and says "They've got to go." Ugh, so I bend over to take another shot of penicillin you-know-where and get a new prescription of heavy-duty antibiotics to take for the next 10 days. Wish they would have removed my tonsils 10 years ago when I asked them to after battling with this year after year. I feel like a freak of nature, but I guess things could be worse.....

Doesn't Get any better than this film.

I love the opening & closing monologues.




The soundtrack isn't too shabby either.

history repeating itself

I'm getting a wicked case of Deja Vu right now. No, scratch that. What it really is history repeating itself and me thinking that I am about to have another experience just like the one i did two years ago. Once again I've outgrown my lame office job and sitting here wondering if I should venture out with another Spanish fellow I barely know to go halfway across the world, this time to Paris and back to his home in Barcelona, and risk coming up empty-handed at the end of it all? That's not to say that memories aren't great but to expect something more at the end of the adventure is just not realistic. That was a lesson hard learned and I'm thankful for the person it forced me to become but I'm wary of making those same mistakes in my life. Maybe it's possible things could be different this time??? I've been contemplating Barcelona all this time before even meeting this guy, so that'a pretty significant coincidence. It would be so much easier if could be half as interested in someone from my own country! Maybe I have an underlying belief that if there is no risk, there is no reward. Somehow I'm sure I will conjure up the courage to throw caution to the wind one more time.

I finally succumbed to the strep throat that has been creeping up on me for over a week now. For a minute, I thought I was in the clear and wasn't going to get sick. No such luck. Two straight days of sleeping and not being able to eat, I'm starting to feel a little better.



what a strange turn of events in my life recently...
Barcelona is now a definite in my near future but that's just the icing on the cake.
Because things seem a little too good to be true I'm going to keep this one a little hush-hush for a while.


Oh, and One of the newest up and coming San Diego bands will be playing in Houston tomorrow night and I get to see them. Refer back to my first blog and my summer playlist for more of their great songs to check out..
